This recipe is made in partnership with Blue Sky Family Farms as a BSFF-Sponsored Blogger.

Oat milk eggnog is MEGA!!!!!! Honestly, there’s no better way to describe it. Oat milk froths so nicely, so it has the same thick consistency you are used to when enjoying eggnog - but it’s dairy free! So for those of you who want to enjoy eggnog but can’t handle the heavy milk, this is a great alternative. I have to say, I was so impressed by this recipe!!! Honestly, I couldn’t stop drinking it and now that it’s actually December + the holiday season I think I am going to keep it in my refrigerator at all times. It has notes of cinnamon and eggnog, and I chose to top it with coconut whip cream. Absolutely divine.

I was super excited to partner with Blue Sky Family Farms for another recipe. Using a high quality egg felt especially important for eggnog since technically you aren’t cooking the eggs. Blue Sky eggs are pasture raised, and the ones used in this eggnog are organic as well. This means the chickens have 50 acres to roam and their feed is free of pesticides and chemicals! Partnering with a company that practices regenerative farming and ethical treatment feels so aligned with my values. You can find out more on their website by clicking here.

For this recipe I also used Califia Farms Unsweetened Better Half. I think it is a wonderful dairy free alternative to half and half, and I use it in many of my recipes.

Oat Milk Eggnog

Oat Milk Eggnog

Oat milk is the perfect alternative when making dairy free eggnog because it froths so nicely so you get the thick texture you are looking for. It has hints of cinnamon and nutmeg, and it's absolutely divine.

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 cups oat milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup Califia Farms Unsweetened Better Half

Instructions

  1. Place egg yolks and coconut sugar in a mixing bowl. Using a hand mixer, mix 1-2 minutes until it is fluffy.
  2. Place oat milk, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a pot over the stove top. Use a handheld frother to get nutmeg and cinnamon mixed in well, or just whisk together. Bring to a low boil.
  3. After the milk has come to a low boil, slowly begin to pour it into the egg and sugar mixture, whisking while doing so. Add the mixture back to the pot over low heat.
  4. Stir it constantly and let it thicken for a couple of minutes, but do not let it come to a boil again.
  5. Take off heat and stir in the Califia Farms unsweetened better half. Refrigerate for at least an hour before enjoying!
